Pressure Reference for Pressure Balance Calibration

When using a pressure balance (dead weight piston gauge) for calibration, a reference instrument is needed to confirm that the calibration values are being generated correctly, as well as a high-accuracy pressure monitor to measure atmospheric pressure. The MT300 provides the high accuracy, high resolution, and long-term stability required for this application.

When using the MT300 as an in-house reference standard, its high long-term stability results in minimal accuracy drift between calibration cycles, reducing the cost and administrative burden of recalibration. The MT300 has also been adopted as a Transfer Standard in international comparisons and is widely used in the field of metrology standards.

Coolant Flow Pressure Loss Measurement in EV Cooling Systems

EVs contain many heat-generating devices, including motors, batteries, inverters, and power control units. Since each device generates different amounts of heat and has a different optimal temperature, a single vehicle is typically equipped with multiple cooling systems. In the design and development of cooling systems, measuring the pressure loss in coolant flow paths is essential.

The MT300 differential pressure model is also compatible with liquids, enabling high-accuracy measurement of coolant pressure loss with a single unit. With ranges and resolution suited to the measurement target, the MT300 contributes to performance evaluation and optimization of EV cooling systems.

Evaluation of Air Conditioner Performance

In cooling and heating performance testing of air conditioners, performance values are calculated from the differential pressure before and after an air flow measurement nozzle and the air temperature/humidity. The test must be performed in an equilibrium state, requiring accurate measurement of internal and external pressures. The MT300 with the /F1 option supports high-speed measurement of rapidly changing pressures, contributing to improved accuracy of performance testing.

In the same HVAC and appliance field, a configuration using synchronous measurement with a differential pressure model and an absolute pressure model is also utilized for vacuum cleaner suction power testing (IEC 60312).

Field Calibration and Maintenance

In field environments such as plants, calibration, verification, and loop checks of installed transmitters need to be performed on-site. Using the /DM option of the MT300, you can supply 24 VDC to the transmitter to power it, and directly measure its output signal (1–5 V or 4–20 mA) — completing the entire process with a single unit.

With the /EB option Li-ion battery, approximately 6 hours of continuous operation is possible even at sites without AC power. GPIB, USB, and Ethernet communication interfaces are standard, allowing easy integration with existing measurement systems.
